2019 Moto Guzzi Lineup
« on: November 09, 2018, 11:11:18 AM »
Received the brochure this morning on the TT, and the entire lineup is in it.  Not a bad selection for a company that's been going out business for 97 years

Not bad at all!  Let the countdown to 100 years begin!

I'd like to make it to Mandello for that celebration!

Prescott...are you still in?  Just enough time for you to take Italian lessons.

Andiamo...facciamo un giro d'Italia!

Awesome!  Now are they actually going to bring in that pretty green V9 Roamer??   I'll be waiting if they do!

If anyone else was curious what the V7iii Night Pack is, here's what one site is saying (love on-line translations)

"
In this variant of surname Night Pack and built using as a base the version Stone highlights the fully LED lighting, both front and rear and for the intermittent, and that manages to give a different appearance to the Italian model.

In the case of the headlight, it is mounted in a slightly lower position while behind, the optics is also different and is associated with a shorter and thinner rear fender. The tuition support is also new.
The seat, although it maintains the shapes, has a sewn on top plus an embroidered logo that makes us know that we are facing the special version of the Moto Guzzi V7 III Stone "Night Pack", which can be purchased in black color , blue and bronze.
"

Original site:  https://www.soymotero.net/moto-guzzi-v7-iii-stone-night-pack-2019-detalles-diferenciadores-27353

I'm not sure what "tuition support" is supposed to be.  Here's the original Italian:
El soporte de la matrícula también es nuevo.

Should read:  "The registration support is also new"  ie, the license plate support is new.

Nice lineup, but nothing that interests me. Will be interesting to see if sales pick up.... Will Guzzi re-embrace any level of performance oriented bikes?

That was kind of my thought until I thought back to 2002 where you had

V11 Sport and sisters
750 Nevada

Maybe it has gotten a lot better

I really hope and I think the sales will pick up... especially because the V7 and V9 are affordable.
The 85tt price should be around 14/15k according what I have read from the Italian press ( but it’s just an estimate, nothing official yet )

Maybe if the sales increase there will be money to invest in a new motorcycle model more sport/touring oriented...?!
Who knows ... we will see.

Well, hopefully whatever the "road inspired" bikes from the V85 engines Guzzi are cooking up will satisfy the sport and sport touring line...

Retro is here and it is here to stay at least for another few more years IMO, hence the sale in V7 & "some" V9...with its million other color scheme of the same bike...

Life isn't WHAT IS at the end.
It is HOW and WHAT you are doing to get there.

Not too shabby.  I bet that Atlante Blue for the new V85 will be striking! As for the lineup, I'm not going to bitch, because I've never been in the market for a new Guzzi.

I'm guessing they have not made 1921 yet so they are continuing on this calendar year.

Weren't they only supposed to make 100 Racers?  Means nothing.

I see this "badge engineering" as a good thing for a small brand like Guzzi.  They have a few good, tested platforms and make variations.  A different approach is taken by Harley.  In the Harley world, a lot of riders see the bike as a starting point and Harley has spent decades cultivating this mindset in its riders, and a great idea it was.  However, the dealers had to stock massive amounts of chrome parts for all of the various bikes.  As a former owner, I could go in to the store and walk out with a $25 part.  Or, walk out with a $2,500 part.  Many times, I was in the dealer and just bought some small chrome doo-dad and Harley made a profit every time.  That model would not work for Guzzi because the dealers are generally so much smaller and don't have the space and cannot afford to carry huge amounts of "add ons" in stock hoping they will sell.  As such, my point is (finally) that the prospective Guzzi buyer can buy a bike already customized.  With that business model, the dealer only has to stock the bikes themselves as they would have anyway.  I like it.

But today we have the internet and fast transportation.  I ordered the extras I wanted for the V7 and they arrived at my home.

Mine says 362/1000 on it.

I guess when they hit 100, they just added a zero.

But yes, means nothing.

As for the V7 III Stone Night Pack -- I want the LED headlight from that on my Special.
I'll have to watch AF1 and/or MGCycle's parts pages to see what that'll cost to retrofit.

I agree, but going to the Harley dealer as a thing to do for fun for Harley riders and it is those impulse buys that generated a lot of revenue.  Also, with MG, if you want to buy a stone and customize it from the net, you still have that option, so, best of both worlds as I see it.

Harley also has customized models from the factory.  They are 'specials', 'customs', and CVOs.

Just like Moto Guzzi has different versions of the V7, Harley makes different versions of their Sportsters, Softails, and Touring bikes.  Many common parts, but enough unique parts to differentiate them.

I asked the parts mgr @ Euro Cycles in Reno (their main focus is Triumph, a few MV's & picked up RE this yr) if they were going to stock any MG (have had about 4 yrs) accessories. "Nah, I'll orer'em for ya."
