Guzziless (for the moment)
« on: June 18, 2015, 06:34:50 PM »
Well, my CalVin went to a new home today, and I think I'm having some seller's remorse.  Problem was I just didn't put that many miles on it so couldn't really justify keeping it.  This is the first time I've owned just one bike in the past 15 years or so.  I'll have to see how that suits me.  In the meantime it's always fun looking for a possible replacement.

The day my CalVin is sold is probably after I have left this world, one of the very best do anything bikes I have ever owned! I love the handling of this bike so much it's hard to compare it to anything else in its class.

I know, it really is a special bike.  You're making me feel even worse
But I rarely go on long trips anymore, and for the primarily canyon riding that I do the bike I generally reach for is the Triumph.  Let someone else give the CalVin the miles it deserves.

every so often I get a soft spot for my old California bikes.. but what I ride now surpasses the experience of the Tonti frame.

StMike,

As am I, for now. I sold my V7C back in April, and I immediately regretted it.
I was waiting for a V7 II Stone in a particular color that I (found out later)
was not able to get this year, so I opted to wait, in the  hope that there would be
some kind of miracle shipment of that particular color to US shores, but I digress.

Now, I hear that Robert Colannini has said that there might be something to slot
between the V7 II Stone and the California. That is something to look forward to
if it's indeed true, and not just a rumor.

I may be Guzziless, but thankfully I'm not bikeless. I'll be riding with some friends this morning in the San Gabriel mtns.  I'm glad I'm able to wait and get a replacement for the Cal that will excite the heck out of me.
