07 Norge red Triangle of Death illuminated

I changed the oil pressure sensor and cleaned the engine up real well.  Crusty helped me put her all back together yesterday and I took her out for a shake down run.  One mile into the run the red triangle of death came on.  The sensor is brand new, I hope it's not bad. Oil level is good, just below half. I'm open to suggestions of what and where to check.

Why did you change the sensor in the first place?

Was having persistent oil misting problem.  30,000 miles and it kept oiling the left side lower.  Replaced the hose, and used RTV to try and seal it.  After looking closely at the sending unit it looked like oil may have been wicking up through the wires.

my bellagio of that era often starts with that red light..  oil level is fine.  there is some misting oil out of the left head, but not enough to bother me - it's a daily ride and never particularly clean   

Anyway, when it does it, I turn ignition switch off and on and it's gone.. sometimes.. it will usually be off if I actually start the bike before the needle settles back down after turning ignition on..

Good moto guzzi mechanic here in Sydney (John at Motociclo) said there's some problem there but worth trying to isolate when it's no real problem..

The red triangle of death, is not really so bad.  It means there is a problem some where with something.  Mine comes on occasionally, but there is actually nothing of any measure wrong with the bike.  It started after I put an after market exhaust on.  I studied it a while, and have determined it's no big deal.


Like Moz said, it usually goes away if I shut it down, and restart.

I did shut down, then restarted it, then less than a mile it came back on.  Engine sound did not change.  Light came on and I shut the engine down.  Checked things over, restarted it, no light.  Took off to return to the house and it came back on.  Pulled into the house and wrote you guys..  What now Chief??

Do you have the old sensor? Would it be that you could put the old sensor back in and if there is no light then the new sensor could be kaput.

Hey Storm, they told me the pressure switch had a bad batch come in and if the black plastic top moved around a little it was bad so I replaced mine and the problem went away, I replaced the factory connector to the switch also, so far 3000 miles and no problem, look at the sensor next to the pressure switch, it seems to leak a lot, little o-ring replaced. all good.
