Lario carb problem
« on: September 10, 2015, 07:54:12 AM »
I've run into a brick wall trying to get my Lario back on the road. I need atomizers in the stock size (268) for the carbs, but nobody seems to have them. Harper's has been trying to get them for ages, and before them Dellorto Direct wasn't able to supply them, either.

The carbs are PHBHs, using apparently the same accelerator pumps that the old VHB carbs used. Apparently they come with the pumps and without. I can get the atomizers for the non-accelerator-pump PHBHs, but they don't fit.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Do the atomizers look the same as the VHB atomizers?

Unfortunately, those are only available in 265 and 270.

The problem with the original atomizers is I don't have them. The PO fitted an accessory exhaust, which sounds and looks the business, but has far too large a diameter and screws up the breathing. It was rejetted at that time. I want to put it back to stock, with the stock exhaust and jets.

The non-pumpers may be the way to go. How much would you want for them?

sending the carbs over from europe might be impractical, but as far as i can see from the parts fiche,
any v65/v75 has the same 30 mm carbs as the lario

Yes, they are apparently the same as the VHB pumper atomizers.

Then I would buy a pair of each size (265 and 270) and see which works best. Yes, it wouldn't be "stock" jetting then, but if it works, then that's all that matters. MG Cycle has the 265s:

and might be able to special order the 270s. If not, Eurocarb Ltd. in the UK has them:

Try Harper's of course as well and Herdan Corp. http://www.herdan.com/ (best to call in the afternoon).
