Hi all,
I'm based in Cambridge MA and I've been looking for a local or semi-local person who might be able to meet me once in a while on a Saturday and help me tune, maintain, understand my swell '79 1000 SP that I've been riding since last year. I'm getting it out early this year and put some miles on it (how early is early?? hm. It was 65 degrees last week!) It's been great to ride but I'd like to make sure I take care of it properly and maybe maintain or fix this and that.

Somebody must know someone. This is the bike that I bought from Tom in NC, needed a clutch so I tore it apart. Gabe is a great new owner and jumped right into MG ownership as a new rider. His post probably brought the average age on this forum down five years.

Here’s a New England specific forum. Lots of riders and wrenches in Mass. Great bunch.

Gabe, I sent you a PM.
I agree, introduce yourself on the NEMotoGuzzi group.
You might also give MGNOC a try. You have to subscribe, but it provides some
useful resources and names and location of members.

Hey,
I just bought a basket case Red and White 1980 SP. Won't be tearing into anytime soon but when I do I'll give you a shout. Most of my experience tuning bikes is on my FI Vintage. But I have the tools available and garage space if need (no lift). I am sure I could touch up on some earlier posts on how to do it correctly. Any complaints in paticular you have?
BTW I am in Wilton NH probably a 55 mins back road ride from you once you get out of the mess they call Boston.

Sweet old SP. Those are great bikes. Dont forget Dirk is there in Dover NH as well. Guess I didn't realize how many Guzzisti are rollin' around out there north of Boston. Would make relocating that much more pleasant.
