Yup, very cool. Had to click, hoping this was actually a Ten Years After thread, not just ten years after something....

Who was faster, Alvin Lee or Rory Gallagher?

I saw Alvin Lee a few times in The Burgh. Twice in large venues, which were great. Last time I saw him was in a small club in Mckees Rocks. He tore the place up. I had to stand on a table to see the show. He's one of my faves. To think he died on the operating table in minor surgery... I had to get myself a cheap copy of his style of guitar.

If you are a Ten Years After fan find a CD copy of Pure Blues by them. It was only released on CD in the mid nineties in Europe. I found a copy in the Netherlands but it is available on some music sites. Alvin Lee nails the Blues!

With George Harrison. Alvin wasn't all about speed notes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rB6OlJqV1rQ He could be pretty melodic when he wanted to, unlike some other fast guns.
