It's nice to see that the rallies are up and running again. I was fortunate enough this year to be able to attend the Cedar Vale, Kansas and the Elkader, Iowa festivities - and the the Wisconsin Rally is nearly here .
I'm looking forward to this one. It's been always been a great rally. :-)

We wont be making it this year as the dates got changed. Vacation was put it for the early part of August. Too late to change it now. Heading to Ohio for some U.S. Presidential historical stuff.

Unfortunately, I can't make the WI gathering this year. I wonder if it will ever get back to Lake Joy with the Beer Wagon and Brat and Burger Cookout? Hope so.
Nothing wrong with the Richland Center area though. Closer to great roads and good riding options in almost every direction.
Some cool places to check out if unfamiliar with the area....
Wisconsin Riverside Resort-Spring Green (Cool Spot, Good Food).
Unity Chapel-Spring Green (Original burial spot of Frank Lloyd Wright)
Bob's Bitchin' BBQ-Dodgeville (Yum)
Swing Inn-Ferryville, WI (Great little bar in this Mississippi River hamlet. Good food. Great cheese selection at the gas station)
Wildcat Mountain / Mindoro Cut area (75 mi to the North. Great riding destination)
Potosi Brewery-Potosi (Restaurant / Beer Museum. Great Root Beer)
Cassville, Wi (Ferry across the Mississippi to Iowa) (Cool river town with several good restaurants)
Pete's Hamburger Stand-Prairie Du Chien (Open Fri-Sat)
L&M Salvage-County Y, Richland Center (Mountains of junked motorcycles and cars)
Have Fun!

^^^^^ Thanks for that, Scott.. some places we haven't been.
Gots the Aerolario loaded in the van. Off to Oshkosh Saturday to hang out with The Kid and play airplane. Leaving OSH Thursday to go to their place. Friday morning, off to the Wisconsin rally. He's bringing his new old Eldo. I'll bring tools.
Psssssst. Hey Chris.. I have some stuff in the door of the van for your carb sticks..

WMGR website has been updated with accurate information about the location. Alana Springs is the campground https://www.alanaspringscampground.com// (https://www.alanaspringscampground.com//)
The info in the Mgnoc newsletter is confusing as somehow the poster was copied from several years ago. The text is better but makes it look like Alana Springs is the town.
Sorry if anyone gets confused and goes to the wrong place.
Weather forecast looks good.
Hope to see you there.

I normally go, but my son who rode up with me last year is getting out of welding school and will be moving home that weekend. He will need my help and my truck.
-
I can make it one night. Friday or Saturday, Which is better?
-
Friday nights are usually the longest and most entertaining of the two.
-
I’ll see you Friday! Bald guy, black T3.
-
Looking forward to getting there on Friday and meeting old friends.
And having a beer or two.

Hey Kevin,
Hope you're listening to your doctors and nurses! Missed you at the rally...
I rode in Sat AM just for the group ride over to Joe Block's - even though group rides are not my favorite... Hats off to WMGR President Tom Kelly for organizing this ride. He does a much better job than the last WMGR President did! Anyhow, once we arrived at Joe's I thought I might actually be in heaven. Beautiful setting waaaay out in the country, even a stream running through the property just outside the garage.
Here's a few of the treasures hidden inside said garage.

Something for everyone there and I didn't get a good pic of a Moto Morini 3-1/2 on the lift but you can see a bit of it in the background of the Knucklehead/Norton picture. Norton in the first pic was, as Joe told us, the rarest of his bikes. Can't remember what it's called but it was not included in the Norton catalog; it was available if you knew who to talk to. It's a Manx (bevel drive cam with exposed valve springs!) motor in a Featherbed frame and cost about double the price of a contemporary British Twin. One of 8 produced (?) Not many still exist but we got to see one on Saturday. So thanks to Joe Block for hosting and Tom Kelly for setting it up!

Guess who showed up on a Ronald McDonald?

Brad (The Kid) rode his Eldo "Carp" and I rode the AeroLario through mostly Wisconsin "alphabet roads" to the rally. It was a shakedown run for Carp, she had only been around the block a few times. She did fine, of course. The Kid *is* an airplane mechanic after all, and he'd spent 3 weeks of part time work going through her.
He said, "Man, that was good for me.. I've been needing a ride." I concurred.
Saturday, we rode to the Wildcat mountain area (thanks, Scott) and got rid of our chicken strips on some righteous twistys.. the best I've seen since SoCal.. :thumb: Have I mentioned how much I like riding in the driftless region? Yes.. yes I have.
Thanks to the Wisconsin guys and girls for all you did!

That would be whisky..although whiskey is good, too.. Nothing like a little hair off the dawg that bit you.

What?? No takers on who was on the Ronald McDonald??

That can only be Mr. Ratguzzi. The one, the only...

We pulled out early afternoon on Monday and got home before dark, no trouble with the truck and trailer so we took a scenic route.. The owner and the excellent camp host Ken both told me to thank the Wisconsin Guzzi riders for leaving the campground in such good shape, they were truly appreciative. Next weekend they have a big group for a family reunion so they were working feverishly Monday morning. We got to Alana Springs Tuesday before the rally , scenic, peaceful and quiet it was. Then Thursday a show came to us , the actors trickling in, building in entertainment until late Saturday around the fire. Deb and I went back to our camp after eleven. Johnnie had ralphed so after we cleaned it up I said: Johnnie ralphed in Dans shoe so we are going to bed and we left, chuckling at our wit. The next morning the show left so quickly and peace and quiet returned so fast that we wondered if we had been mesmerized and imagined it all. Good coffee, good roads, good rally!

Actually, it is "whiskey". Irish single malt whiskey.
