Thanks, you two. I plan to set the bag on the pillion seat rather than a rack. Chase Harper makes good stuff, and I'm eyeing one of their larger duffels. Thanks again for the input.Sarah
Check out a Saddlemen Tunnel Tail Bag. Was planning to buy one for my V7 but bought the V85 w/ panniers. This on on eBay is super cheap provided you're willing to provide your own straps: https://www.ebay.com/itm/115067034022?epid=171132671&hash=item1aca8799a6:g:tr4AAOSwcDZhea2Y
Thanks again, everybody. I probably should have specified tail trunk, since I'm looking to carry everything but the kitchen sink. Here's a couple I'm considering:https://www.denniskirk.com/saddlemen/ts3200-deluxe-sport-tailbag-3516-0037.p506879.prd/506879.skuhttps://chaseharperusa.com/collections/tail-trunks/products/aeropac-line-aeropac-ii-tail-trunkI need to measure my old Tourmaster for comparison.Sarah
Thank you again. It's great fun setting a bike up just to suit. I can pass the time this winter just pondering my options. I'm committed to using a seat bag for the foreseeable future, but I won't get away with 20 bucks like you did, what a bargain. That Stornello is such a nice bike.Sarah
Nice Bee, thanks for the picture! Keep us posted on other changes you make along the way.Sarahp.s. I know we're not supposed to wish time away, but I'm sure in a hurry for spring.
Just going to jump on board here. My Centenario arrived last week, managed a quick ride out to get a fresh tank of petrol. First impressions. Very light, nimble, sweet free revving engine, nice gearing, found the riding position very roomy and comfortable (Iím 5í11Ē). Like how itís put together. Not sure whether I will swap out the exhausts or not, we have a lot of horses and other wildlife around here so I may just keep it stock.I have swapped out the mirrors (over the weekend) for some bar ends because I just prefer them. My wife says itís the best looking bike Iíve had and she really likes it, she said itís like the bike from the Great Escape film. Now we all know itís not but I get what she meant. I have seen the Special version in both Grey & blue and they looked stunning but I wanted the more Ďurbaní look and I really like it. A lot.
Which bar end mirrors did you go with and do you like them?Iíd love to find a thread focused on mods people have made instead of poking around YouTube, etcÖI think my list will include some kind of luggage that doesnít ruin the cafe look, some bar end mirrors, possibly aftermarket exhaust. Would also like led turn signals. And maybe heated grips.
I've fitted some eBay specials "HJR products". Well made and no vibrations at all. I'm also using the MG flat bar and no bar end weights needed.
Nice.Got to ask, how does it run with that aftermarket exhaust then? I presume you have not been able to alter the ECU from Euro5 standard. Are you running it with the baffles/db killers in? Even though it may sound louder/nicer (depending upon what you like) I wouldnít want to mess the fuelling up in the process.
I will butt in here and report my experience. As far as I know there are no maps available for the V7-850. When Beetle and company come up with a map I will buy one though. Not because mine isn't running well, but due to the positive experiences I've had with Beetle maps on my other Guzzis. I am sure a Beetle map will optimize the V7-850.I am running mine with the Mistrals and left the db Killers in. The Mistrals are Euro 5 compliant. My bike runs very well and sounds good with the db Killers left in. I have no personal experience but have heard that fueling isn't perfect with the db Killers taken out.
