I want to die in in a fiery spectacular crash in my 95th summer showing a couple of youngsters the fast way over La Veta pass in Colorado after a night of debauchery involving a couple of CU coeds

Is life shorter on a motorcycle or does it just seem longer off of one?
I ditto all those who say no one has left this life alive, so just understand the risks of what you enjoy doing and just do it.

S'truth Bob.  Most of my more than 50 years on motorcycles seem to have flown by quickly.
Where as now that I ride less because of disability, they seem to drag on.

It's my firm belief that those who dwell on their own mortality fall victim to the same fate as those who ignore it, because, while the former is paralyzed by fear, the latter is oblivious to his circumstance, and in the end, neither is capable of appreciating the middle.

Here's to appreciating the middle. [clink]

Now ride your motorcycle and quit worrying about dying. It'll happen before you know it.

One thing that I have noticed, the amount of time riding has no reflection on how safe a rider is!  Simply because they have been lucky for X amount of years does not equate to some mysterious universal karma that says, their time is up!  I see plenty of older riders, all suited up who simply are not, as far as I am concerned, riding safely.  And we see plenty of young riders who are hell bent on an early demise. I recently spoke to a neighbor, mid 60s who told me he just stopped riding after 40 plus years because he dumped his bike in a round-a-bout.  When i questioned him, he had no idea on how to brake properly and looked at me like I was a moron when i mentioned counter steering.

I still contend there are accidents that are just unavoidable but there are more that in hindsight, could have been avoided.
