02 cali ecm mount.
« on: February 24, 2019, 01:30:47 PM »
So im going through the bike giving it a good check over, and noticed one side of the ECM bracket has no hardware. I can just nut and bolt it, but there is a bit of a space between the bracket, and the frame. Should there have been a bushing, or something between the ecm bracket and the frame?  Or was something mounted between it at one time? I dont want to mount it solid if it should be rubber mounted or something.  Also right next to the 3 termanal ECM diag connector, there is a small two wire barrel

connector. Any idea what it should be for?

My '02 is buried inside a trailer under 8 feet of snow so I cant get you a pic but yes, both ends are bolted thru a rubber if I remember.
If only one end is supported it'll vibrate itself to death.

The other end is fixed solid...  looks like its OE mount also..  Makes since about the vibes though..

Hard to tell because the illustration numbers don't match the parts list...   but the ecm does have the 4 mounts [#6 in the picture..]  But if you look at the plate [#5] it shows a bolt and frame insert [ 9 and 11] on the left, but nothing shown on the right..

Sorry, was looking at the picture wrong.

My bike was missing the one in your picture. My ECM had been replaced so I figured they forgot it or it fell off.

#11 in the illustration is a nut, 2 are required though I can only find 1 shown in the parts list.

I just used a nut and bolt to attach that ear.

Hope this helps.

No problem,   After 25 years in the parts world the picture helped me.   So yours was missing also..  Strange. It looks like marks on the plate where a nut would have been, but there is no insert behind it at all..  If it was the auto world I would wonder if there was some kind of a service action to remove it for some reason..
