Need help with guzzidiag
« on: May 03, 2019, 09:33:48 PM »
First, I'm not very computer savvy . second, I have the proper cables, third, I have successfully used guzzidiag in the past to read all the vitals and even load a different map, altho it was 3 maybe 4 years ago. Now when I try to read vitals I get numbers showing for maybe 5 seconds then they go -----. WTF?

beetle,
Thanks for replying, I have a 2004 Hydro installed into a Triking cyclecar and am using a crapy old note book computer with Microsoft XP 2002 home version. I had no problem a few years ago with guzzidiag but as I stated earlier now I'm having problems.

There's no problem with using XP.

What version of the drivers did you install?

Probably one of the first drivers that you put out there. Not smart enough to tell you what version. I will download the latest version  , and try it and let you know how it goes .
     Thanks again

You tell you get numbers, so it's possible to connect.  But when they go, the communication is lacking. The laptop has no other things running? XP isn't a problem, but a bad running XP can be. If you look in taskmanager processor is not busy with high load?
Often wenn laptops aren't used a long time, they start to try to update all things, keeping it very busy.
As I understand, this old laptop is what you used before for Guzzidiag?

Paul,
Yes I have used this computer successfully in the past. However both the computer and the cable have been stored in my garage for several years. Dry but with temperatures that can get quite cold. Am suspecting that one (or both) have been affected . I am about ready for a final test with the cable to determine it's condition and will replace either it or the computer . Stay tuned and thanks to guzzi community .

Cable has been tested and 2 computers do not recognize it. New cable has been ordered. Probably 7 to 10 days to arrive. In the meantime back to setting TPS and balance . Will update when new cable arrives.
