MIke Duphiney Final Update
« on: May 10, 2016, 04:55:07 PM »
Update,
I would like to extend a sincere Thank you on behalf of Mikes family for your prayers and concerns during Mikes last days .
Mike passed away on Feb 23 2016 and soon after I was contacted to help finalize his final resting place on behalf of the family,  the location and time was left to me as Mike and I rode to many places over the years and the family wanted somehow to honor him in some way how he  lead his life. After much consideration and with permission I explained my intentions and they gave me the ok to do the following.
I choose to distribute 1/2 of Mikes ashs in New Hampshire at the campout that Randy Tefft was having over the past weekend. With Randy on board I asked Randy to get permission to distribute Mikes ashs at the campout , we received the ok to proceed so on Saturday aso at 2:30 pm 8 to 10 people that had known Mike gathered on a bluff overlooking a lake and surrounded by Mature Pine trees --a very quite and picturesque area of the campground . Memories were shared tears were shed and we all said our own private good bye's .

The second part of this will be as followed. Randy will take the remaining ashs to the Italy Texas gathering so Mikes friends in that part of the country can share their memories of Mike and this will complete the families request that MIkes ashs be "In the wind" and bring cousure to all for Mikes friends throughout the country.

On a personal note; If anyone ever need a friend I had Mike. We had our diffrences but in the end we had each others back .

This friend I will have the memories of the great times we both had..

The original post is below.

Again on behalf of the Mikes family and friends ---Thank you all

Tom Bailey

With regret I'm writing with permission of Mike’s brother.
Mike has a major health issue and is now in the Bridgeport Connecticut hospital doing the best he can. His family is in charge of his needs and doing what is needed on a day to day basis.
Mike and I have taken may rides together and now those will be the memories I cherish the most that identify his and my Guzzi memories.
So as Mike prepares to take his final Guzzi ride I know that his old friends /new friends / and friends not yet made here will also cherish their memories of our close friend.
I will post here further details as Mike’s family allows.

I've participated in a bunch of motorcycle and car forums over the years. This one is different and this thread exemplifies that difference. You guys have something very special going on here and I feel privileged to be part of it, even tangentially.

You meet a lot of people in your lifetime. If you met Iron Mike you never forgot it.
Double Damn as he was 8 years younger than me.

Blessings upon Mike, his family, and his friends for peace.

The picture draws my eyes to his strong hands.  Surely he is riding a perfect motorcycle road now...grinning, and beard in the breeze.
