Very Early Convert continued

Just an update and a few questions.

This is continued from the original post , engine #8 Transmission #1 (you can see the #1 stamped into the case) if you enlarge the first pic of the starter mounting you can see the #1 stamped in the case

The transmission is finally sealed. Replaced seals and bearing on the torque converter mounting input.
In picture #1 all questions will be referencing the converter on the left of the picture.

In the other 3 pictures I will be referencing the area where the starter attaches, (you can see the #1 stamped into the trans case in one of the pictures.)
The question I have is the following.

Since this is a pre production bike I expected some variations from the production bikes,
the starter mounting area is thinner than my production version. I'm assuming that the starter on the bike now isn't the stock one that came on the bike( remember the owner has a 5 speed setup now and im returning it to the convert configuration.

Thickness is 43 mm compared to my bike of 45mm.

The dowels are 5mm in height. My production bike does not have these dowels.

So referencing the torque converter on the left should the starter on the bike now have any issues working with the torque converter. There isn't dowel holes in the starter

So anyone here that has a very early Convert similar to this one have any input to this setup.

Just a note the starter ring is welded to the torque converter and not the flywheel.

Thanks in advance

You should be able to pull that dowel with no bad effect.  If the starter doesn't bind on installation, try using it.  The worst that will happen is that it grinds.
