V7 III Carbon D - PhotoChop
« on: July 12, 2019, 10:54:26 AM »
So learning that there was a new V7 III Stone edition with LED lighting made me take a look at the Guzzi website.

While paging through the various V7 iterations I noticed the new look of the Racer and that they placed the Carbon D next on the web page (it being next in price I assume) something jumped out at me.

I suspect many of the old timers here won't care, but I always loved the look of the painted frames and thought about the Racer more than once to get that feature. But there would be a number of ergonomic changes I'd need to make and it wasn't compelling to me.

I first thought the Carbon D was a bit of whore's purse to co-opt Pete's phrase, there being no real purpose to using carbon fiber meaning in the end it really just has a few red accents to set it apart.

Then Jenn fell in love with one and it wound up in my garage and I've come to really like the looks of it.

But an idea popped into my head as I quickly paged from the Racer image to the Carbon D and I had to see it for myself.

MAN I wish they'd done this to the Carbon D, it would really make it pop!

would look even cooler with a silver frame, keep the red calipers, badge, and valve covers!

Silver frame eh? Ok, I'd mock that up but I have a real hard time replicating silver in Photoshop, my shopFu is too weak.

That said, this is why I think it's good strategy for them to have 8 versions at any given time!  :thumb:

But heck like I said, I've found myself not liking the looks of a bike one day and changing my mind the next.  :embarrassed:

Not a fan of flat black.
In my eyes that bike has way too much contrast, bling for my taste. Looks like a getto bike.

Almost as "getto" as this one:

But the 3D would need more chrome to reach that level of "getto".  :boozing:

I think the red springs and wheel stickers finish mine off nicely.

That does look nice, just enough red......

Lots of good stuff here.
I often wonder hoe the OEM's come up with their color. or lack of, schemes.
