Something I have noticed about my v9, that I didn't with my other Guzzi, it smells bad.
When I get home after a ride and park it in the enclosed garage, something happens. My wife and kids come home and ask, "What it that smell in the garage?" I know what they are referring to, it's a synthetic plastic smell, not very pleasant.
I'm guessing others have noticed this? Maybe it's the use of new rubber valve gaskets, (which I'm a big fan of)?

Check your bike, make sure it's not melting. (Somewhere)
-
Some of those catalytic converters/emissions stuff have a bit of stank going on.
I used to park my V9 outside and let it cool off before rolling it inside. It had sort of a burnt exhaust smell going on - much like a carb bike that was running way too lean - like it was burning hot.
-
Strange, at times my 02 Stone smells of burning oil or differential fluid when it gets hot. Thing is, I can’t even find a damp spot anywhere on the motor it transmission and there has never been a drip of any fluid under her as well as no missing oil in between changes. Go figure.

You sure it's not OLIVE OIL ???

Does this model have a catalytic converter? That device can generate a smell like burned meat on a frypan. If so, it is quite normal and can be ignored.

V7 III and V85TT here and no weird smells from either. My V7 does make some interesting noises after a ride from fuel tank pressure release.

No, nothing is melting, it’s smelled this way now for 5300 miles.
Of course it has a cat, every MG for almost two decades has come with a cat.

If it smells like sulphur it is the cat .

Could be ...the devil! He’s reportedly has a sulphur smell to him

See OP if you’re wondering what it smells like.

bad moto Guzzi.
Bad chad.
Bad smell.
maybe it's just me but I'm seeing a pattern here.
Seriously, the smell of Melting plastic is probably melting plastic and probably like leaking oil on my old Harley. When it runs out of oil (or, in this case, plastic to melt) the problem will probably go away.....

Man, I was stretching bagels back then when this came out- out west on Kingston Pike in Knoxville & riding my V7 sport to work at 4am.. one of the cute chicks who works up front comes into the shop one morning. She's all worked up & says "there's a song about your bike on the radio. No sh-- I'm not kidding." Yeah right- Like anyone is singing about a Moto Guzzi. I didn't believe her until I heard it. Then I bought the album...
"Birds fall from the window ledge above mine. Then they flap their wings at the last second." That's probably my favorite line of prose in the entire world. The meter is absolutely exquisite. What is it- haiku, iambic pentameter or ??

Dead critter/ mouse buried in there somewhere?

Check back on KiwiRoy's posts about the exhaust crossover/cat/insulation packing/wrap catching fire on his new V7 bike, I'm betting that your V9 is a similar design doing a hidden slow burn, it just hasn't burst into flames yet, fwiw
Found it fyi https://wildguzzi.com/forum/index.php?topic=106383.0

Maybe the dry clutch?
Can start smelling quite a bit in city traffic or after abuse ;)
I was not used to that smell (or dry clutches) and was worried at first too.
Cheers,
D.
EDIT: Oh, I see you also have a dry-clutched Breva. So that's probably not it ;)

Funny you bring that up. Came back from a ride the other day on my Griso and had the same smelly problem. Looked around for something melting but found nothing. I better look harder.

The '02s had the faulty engine paint, and mine smelled quite strongly for the first season, decreasing as it "baked and cured". I still always get a hint of it early each season.
I don't really mind it. I just think of it as the "new car smell" that never goes away!

Ran over a ripe dead skunk one night .That took some cleaning on the inside of the fenders to get out.
-
My Bobber smells good. IDK what's going on besides either a leak or plastic near something hot.
-
My V9 Roamer has been odor free.
-
Sometimes my LMIII has the aroma of toasted ravioli and a cold Peroni
-
Just happened to be watching a tv show last night about mining Opals. This guy shut down his front end loader and could smell something odd. He went to the battery case and opened it, it smelt of bad eggs. He calls his mechanic, the mechanic says. "That is caused by your alternator charging to high. The regulator is on it's way out, the batteries are probably toast and you have probably blown your alternator as well". So is this our problem also? A bad regulator overcharging.

I think Sidmonsters has it right. The breather hoses on my Norge were changed out and the smell I was experiencing went away.
-
A friend of mine complained about the smell of engine coolant from the Norge when I parked in his garage
