Title: V7 Stone ii ABS / Rearsets
Post by: 11201ny on July 24, 2015, 07:13:02 AM
Just putting it all together.
Recently I purchased a V7 Stone ii ABS. I am in the process of switching some parts out - both functional & cosmetic (there isn't really too much that can be done). Anyway, i will eventually switch out the Stones rearsets to a pair of Agostini's (black).

Seems like it would be a pretty quiet upgrade. Does anyone have any experience on this topic?
Thanks!

Stones don't have rearsets.  The Agos rearsets will locate the pegs further back than stock.

I put the V7 racer rear sets on my bike v7II Stone.
I like the rear sets a lot more than stock but one thing to be aware of is that the shaft that goes through the frame on the gear shifter side needs to be longer for the V7II  so when you purchase make sure they are for the later bike.

I have never seen the Agos in the flesh,  but the photos look good. The racer rear sets have a 3 position lug to vary the length/height slightly - do the Agos have similar? I couldn't tell from the photos I've seen.

The racer rear sets came with instructions that were straightforward enough & everything fitted easily & well. I trust you'll find the Agos similarly easy. And those black ones look very smart.

Are we talking about rear set controls, or mufflers?

Foot peg and lever. I've just been told that the Agostini's don't currently fit the new v7's.

Does anyone know if the $ato rearsets fit? I see that it has the V7II listed.
I also understand that there is a little problem with the return spring on brake pedal. I'm also curious if the brake light switch is compatable?

One thing I forgot to mention is that with the V2 it has ABS and because of this the bike now has 2 pipes that run from the ABS unit down the front of the frame and one of the pipes leads to the rear brake.
So you will have to lengthen one of these pipes buy removing it from lower bracket plus the zip tie up on the frame.
This pipe has to come back around 40mm so you will also have to bend the metal pipe a bit, Its not hard to bend because its soft but take your time when you do because you don't want to break it.
