What frame is 1993 1000s?
« on: June 06, 2017, 10:46:49 AM »
Hi,
I am trying to out what frames might be the same as my 1993 1000S. It has Tarozzi rear sets and I want to put it back to the normal footrests, pegs, shifter, brake pedal. The parts are hard to find for a 1000S but I think the frame is probably the same as other bikes so it might widen my search.

I am hoping the parts may be around because so many people switch to rear sets but maybe that is wishful thinking.

I truly appreciate any advise or leads.

Many Thanks,
Peter

Lost cause, I think you need to just get rid of the 1000s. PM me and I can take that to the dumpster for you, but only after you sign the title over to me

Peter,

1000S and LeMans 1000 were identical under the skin.

I would think that foot pegs and levers from any LeMans 1000 would fit right and look right.

Agreed, and I think Harper's has these parts. Pricey, but it's not like you are restoring the whole motorcycle!

I just posted a reply but it didn't go through. I will try again.

Thank you guys. I think you are exactly right.. the LM1000 is the same.  Harpers told me that there is a very slim chance of finding anything because they all broke when they even came close to the ground.

How about forgetting the passenger pegs and those cast brackets. Would 850 levers and pegs fit?

Thanks Groover for the kind offer. If I can't find anything I will send the bike and title to you in boxes. I will send you this PIA, bland,  boring junk too, if you have room.

Just a guess but.....
try the Strada and SPIII
They look very close.
Looks like you may also have to screw with the exhaust mounts.

Nope, not the same brackets, close but not quite the same.

If you're putting the bike back to stock for that desire, I understand but it won't be as comfortable as what you have right now. Also, those brackets are fairly easy to break. They do come up on eBay every once in awhile.

Thank you all.  Good input and advise. I can make/adapt whatever brackets I need to but I want to start with the  right pegs and levers.

Haha Chuck... if Groover doesn't have room I will send it to you for recycling.

Wow, Thank you for those good finds. That would be a start.

I will keep searching. Thank you for the great effort.

The yellow tape is just protecting the paint on the edges during assembly.
That is a friends bike I am working on. Not ready to be photographed but I figured you all would enjoy seeing her.

Thanks Again
