Still Kicking
« on: April 14, 2024, 04:39:57 PM »
I will be 70 in a couple of months, and although 70 isn't ancient, I do feel lucky that my body is still sound enough to kick my Commando to life.

This picture was snapped last night.

Peter Egan blames his stroke on kicking over a Norton.

It has been that the anniversaries of my birth aren’t a big deal ! That said . The ones that end with a 0 are notable mile markers . I recently celebrated the twenty second anniversary of my 50th !

That’s a great picture Dave - worthy of a frame in your shop.  My 72 Combat is definitely an easier kick than some other bikes, unless it’s wet-sumped.  My kryptonite is the left side kick Ducati 450.  It lives to snap back while I am off balance and not committing to the follow through.

This was my friend Leo Rocca at 83 years old.

He always liked those "tall horses", but eventually had to settle for three wheels (Can-Am Spyder) to continue riding. He passed away last year at age 89.

I’m also turning 70 this year but have push button starts for all my bikes, including the Norton. Keep on kicking Dave!  :clock:

I'd like to "like" all these!
The only problem I ever had kicking my Norton was when it backfired and the top of my knee caught the handlebar. (when points were a thing)
I'd rather step on a Lego, that hurt me.
