William Shatner to cross U.S. on Rivet, a custom steampunk motorcycle. (Chicago to L.A. is cross-country?  ??? )

You can see the poor designers hopes sink as their formal designs have to be changed radically by Shatner's second thoughts! "Well, there goes that idea!"

If Captain Kirk rode a real 60's designed sci fi bike it would look more like this!

This is hilarious!  You must watch the video. Poor Shatner hasn't a clue what a motorcycle is or what cross-country is. These poor designers will forever be at his <chsnging>mercy. Id cry uncle now if it were me.

And the Ribet motorcycle is to have 3 wheels, an enclosed body and a full canopy? Some bike!  ::)

And I guess that there will be a motor coach following behind with the support team and media crews.

That's show biz!  ;)

Gee I dunno. I've looked at the pic in the first post quite a few times, and I still haven't seen this alleged motorcycle.

I was gonna suggest they call it Star Trike, but turns out that's taken.

Then again, when I was watching Predator I didn't think two members of its cast would become governors, either. So you never know.

Well, two seats, he's gotta have that; where would his nurse sit? And a canopy; her nurses cap would fly off if you didn't have a bonnet to protect her head and cap - otherwise if she didn't look like a nurse people would talk.

If she is full on dressed in a nurses uniform I suspect they will talk anyway.
  ::)
Keen on seeing what the trike ends up looking like; what they have now is not all that attractive to my ill trained eye anyway.  :P

Bummer that he can't do it on a proper two wheeler. Kinda disappointing in the way that Billy Connolly used a Trike for his recorded tour when I had anticipated a motorcycle - hell, even an outfit woulda been better. But hell, to each his own according to his abilities, to cross-crib a pair of phrases.
