Oil pump prime
« on: November 04, 2017, 01:58:43 PM »
The newly-assembled Centauro motor isn't putting out any oil pressure.  Has anyone had to prime an oil pump on one of these motors?  I had it apart to change the belts and install a Joe Caruso pump.

Yes, have to prime. Hey at least you won't have to prime it every time you want to ride. Good Luck w/it.

Personally never had the problem but there was a thread on here recently about sometimes pumps needing to primed

That was not the problem on that thread but you can see its not unheard of especially with a brand new pump

I once put my oil pan gasket on upside down and got the result you're getting.
