Well, watched the movie "Zombieland" last week with the double tap (I think) an entertaining bit. Then, noted that on Sept 20, CMS (Medicare) automatic withdrawal system took their monthly premium out twice. Hmmm I thought. I called them after the bank told me it was CMS I needed to talk to. Yes, after a few steps on the automated phone system a bit of a wait. I explained the situation twice to the pleasant gal at CMS, who then read a seemingly prepared statement "On Sept 20, there was a computer issue which resulted in double taking of automatic payment. CMS is working with the Treasury Dept. to resolve the issue. I asked when it might be resolved and she reread the blurb. Well, can't ask for more can you.
(You would think they might put a msg at the front end of the phone answering system noting the Sept 20th issue and save everyone a bit of time???)
