Title: Wurth SIG 3000 in Australia

All,

Anyone from down here know where I can purchase some Wurth Sig3000 grease in Australia?

If not, what are the locals using in its place for lubing splines?

I get this BMW spline grease from a local beemer shop, good sticky stuff
I've also used Evinrude spline grease for outdrives but I like the beemer stuff better. A little goes a long way.

I've used this Loctite product on a couple of bikes and it seems fine.
65% moly and recommended by the manufacturer for use on splines ( among other things ).

Just throwing this out here....

MG Cycle sells 14 oz tubes of Wurth SIG 3000 for $25.00 per tube. I use Wurth 3000 on my splines and on my driveshafts, so I may use a little over one tube per year, but that is for several bikes. I don't know how much riding you do or how often you grease your splines, but I'm assuming, since you are not using it to grease your bikes driveshaft, that one 14oz tube should last you for a couple of years?

So even if a tube from MG Cycle at $25.00, and let's say that international shipping is another $25.00, then your total cost would only run you around $50.00. I think $50.00 would be little money spend for a tube of grease that is going to last you for years, and more importantly, you already like and know that the Wurth grease works.

Just something to think about.......

Im with pizza guzzi and use the Loctite, tried the Honda stuff and ok but Loctite more tacky

I'd trust most any recognized lube company b4 bmw. My bmw experience is ancient (twins to K1200). Proven to myself and others, their (bmw), clutch spline lube, chosen when the ruby red goo became useless as hp went up, was Lubriplate. Lubriplate is a decent assy. lube or door bolt grease. It will slip off surfaces at idle speeds!
I've used the Honda/Yamaha stuff a lot, w/good results. I'd trust Locktite, too.  R3~
