It looks somewhat similar, but yet light-years away from my '94 Tourist I had. I'd love to try the new ones out. Alas, in the ever changing cycle of life (and sidecars), I am on the down sizing trend and am selling the Steib S350 I have on my Ambassador... maybe.

I have a 2015, one of the first gen FI models, and I did 70 on the freeway. Ural states that the 2nd gen FI goes a little faster than the 1st gen, which goe a little faster than the carbureted models. Oncee you start packing the car, though, they recommend you drop the speed down by 5 mph. Add a passenger along with cargo, you're down ANOTHER 5 mph.

Hey Rusty, What are you lookin to get for the Steib . I have been seriously thinking about a sidecar for my eldo, and the Steib is so cool looking!

I have a 2012 Gear Up, and have had it up to 75, but thats topped out! It will cruise 65 pretty good empty, and with the windshield folded down. Its "sweet spot" seems to be right at 55-60, with a passenger. It reminds me of an old air cooled VW. I have only owned mine about 6 months, and so far it has been solid,and alot of fun to tool around town on! :thumb:

Dirk and Rick, seems plenty fast enough for me.
It seems like a back roads/exploring kind of rig.
Not a highway or racing ride. Load up your fishing, camping stuff, bring your wife and/or kid, or your best friend.

Tell your typical American customer that an off-road focused machine shouldn’t be on the freeway, and they’ll force the market to create the 4-door Wrangler.
This is also why pickup trucks have mostly become beastly family vehicles that rarely ever actually get used for what they actually specialize in.
How dare we have utility vehicles that aren’t also freeway monsters with luxury gadgets and heated seats!

Thanks for the replies regarding freeway speeds. I was thinking about getting one to give my 6 year old grandson rides around the block and maybe pick him up from school. They live about 20 min from me via freeway and about 45 min taking surface roads. I wouldn't want to be on the freeway at much less than 65. Wasn't planning on cruising cross country at 70mph. Something to still think about. I don't suppose it would be too difficult to install a 3 point seat belt in the sidecar.
