NGC - Scrapper or Eric version?
« on: July 26, 2021, 06:49:12 AM »
Great old song from the 1920's.  Been recorded over the years by innumerable artists.
So ................
Scrapper Blackwell version ..... ?
              or
Eric Clapton version... ?

This is my choice.

Thanks, I think it’s the best version as well.

I got introduced to  Nobody Knows by the Bessie Smith version and always thought of that as the standard, long before EC's version , (which I do like a lot).  Heard Scrappers version a couple of years back and have been digging it ever since. Thanks for posting

The song is on the double Derek & Dominos album, isn't it?
Doesn't get better than that......

Will certainly listen to Bessie Smith singing it, though.
