Now don't be pick'n on Santa Cruz just because they have more "Fruits & Nuts" than other areas. Most of those "Fruits & Nuts" came from out-of-state or are descendants of out-of-state "Fruits & Nuts".

Santa Cruz and Capitola were really great 50 years ago.

I lived there for a couple of years two decades ago.  Even then "Don't ask Don't tell" was the general rule when it came to MJ.

Right now my former Marine son who is a Afghan Vet is going to school at UC Santa Cruz -- the true individual in Santa Cruz.

Next time I see him I'll have to ask what reactions he's had when other students/profs learn he was a Marine SDM (squad sniper) with confirmed kills.

I'm about an hour away from SC. Didn't watch the video but gather it's someone making a fool of themselves. Santa Cruz is the preferred local for all kinds of whack-o's, hippies, druggies, etc. An entertaining place to visit but wouldn't want to live there kind of place.

Only medical marijuana is legal for now but expect we will follow the lead of Washington and Colorado within the next 5 years. I hear just about anyone can get a prescription if you're looking for one.

Lol, it all depends on where you look in Da Cruz. There's every type there from hippies and surfers and vacuous valley girl flakes (see video) to real people. And, unfortunately, gangbangers. So kind of like every other city. Having friends down there I get there fairly often, but south of Santa Cruz proper. Great motorcycle roads in the area.

Fwiw, the building that used to house Moto Italiano is now a dispensary. BFD.

I'd much rather ask for forgiveness than ask for permission.

I spent a great childhood weekends in bonney dunne at eaglerock.
I also spent a lot of my summer at the boardwalk,  looking forward to a real ice cream cone at glorias. Good memories from the 60's. :+1

I didn't really mean to pick on Santa Cruz. Just heard a radio talk host playing snippets of her speech and it cracked me up. Probably should have titled the post "Vegatable Trees" or some such utterance from the vapid one.
