I'm trying to get some numbers here of actual Dash failures, quite often there will be a thread about an individual dash failure and then the thread will run off in a direction about Piagios non response and the expense of replacements. If possible I'd like any responses to this thread to be just personal experiences, ie: if your dash failed, post and say when mileage and the cost of replacement. I'm just curious if the dash failure is as wide spread as we may think.

My dash failed for the second owner (Jas67, my little bro). I think mileage was around 20k. He bought an ebay replacement for around $200 I THINK, but the analog display was metric only.

Same here, with 60K, 6+ years.

My brother's B11 did suffer a dash failure, c. 12K (?) a couple of years ago.  Replaced under warranty.

My Breva's dash never failed, but the hazard light was always on despite no error codes popping up on Tune ECU, the neutral light had a mind of it's own  and the low oil light came on whenever I rode in the rain.

2008 1200 Sport.

Well documented dash failure.

Same here well documented.  MY 2008.  Failed at 2 years & 6 weeks @ 8,000 mies.  I was under the mileage cap by 4,000 miles but over the time line by 45 days.  So that's over time by 6%, but under use by 33%.  Piaggio politely invited me to f-k off.

2008 Sport and previous 2009 Breva no problems. Touch wood, fingers crossed, holding rabbits foot etc.

I agree a poll would be a good  idea then try and relate failures to climate, mileage etc.

2008 1200 Sport. Dash failed at 7K miles, replaced under warranty. Replacement mostly works ok except the constent left turn in heavy rain occasional display that comes up blank. Restart and back to normal.

Up to 8 fails vs 10 not. Still a pretty high percentage.

Thing is, those 10 could still fail. Mine went five years or so and I thought I had escaped, but I hadn't.

Has anyone taken a failed dash apart to see if anything is obviously amiss? I understand that moisture is the prime suspect but if one were handy with a soldering iron and meter it might be possible to repair. Or would taking it apart be a one-way trip due to seals, etc?

Not to side track thread, but I work in electronics manufacturing and would love to open up a bad dash and see if I can come up with a fix.  If anyone still has their old broken dash and want to donate it to science, message me, if I can fix it you get it back free of charge for offering it as a test piece. (please do not reply in this post to prevent sidetracking.)
