Disappointing, but not very surprising...

THE CENTENARY WE DREAM OF:
ONE YEAR LATER

Guzzi's friends, the GMG - Giornate Mondiali Guzzi and Motoraduno del Centenario will not be held, as planned, from 6 to 12 September.

The reality is that the great celebration of the Moto Guzzi Centenary that each of us has dreamed of, waited for and supported until the last minute, will not be able to take place this year: not the way we want it, not up to our expectations.

Moto Guzzi, the Municipality of Mandello del Lario and the Organising Committee of the Motoraduno have had to take note of the indications of the authorities regarding the strict limitations related to the --19 pandemic, arriving at this painful decision.

Guzzisti from all over the world, insiders, citizens of Mandello del Lario: each of us has already invested a part of ourselves in this unrepeatable event. In this uncertain moment, however, we are united by one certainty: we deserve and demand to see our incomparable passion worthily celebrated: when? September 2022!

The centenary celebrations have just been postponed for a year. However, those of us who will be in Mandello from 6 to 12 September will find neither events nor entertainment, but the house of Guzzisti open in the most significant area of the first 100 years of Moto Guzzi history. In fact, the Museum will be accessible, even if the number of entrances will be severely limited and will be subject to prior booking.

Not at all surprising given the resurgence of the pandemic. Sad, but then - why not delay so that all can enjoy fully when we whip this thing into submission.

Here's hoping that is next year for sure. In the meantime - this year is MUCH better for those of us that are vaccinated. Step by Step.

I have no problem since I wasn't going anyway. My question, does the unveiling of the new promised Moto Guzzi also wait a year?

My guess is that the new motor/bike is not delayed...
They probably have production scheduled for late this year.

I'm sure a few from Guzzi/Piaggio will be there but no one else.   Maybe they are broke, finally done.

I don't expect the world to return to 2019 way of life. Next year it will be the Theta variant.

I am ok with the event being postponed until next year, I had zero chance of getting there this year but next year is a possibility. It would be great to fly my Eldorado over and come home with a 500 bacon slicer!

Maybe in the year delay they can come up with more than a decal and paint schemes for some Centennial models.

Equally importantly...will the Rolling Stones still play at COTA, and now with a replacement drummer too!

As I recall, HD did pretty much the same thing in 03 for their 100th.

Special two tone paint job, oh but they did surprise the faithful with a concert by hard rockin, gulp, Elton John.

OTOH, my unvax'd sister has had (Dallas) tickets for a year.   What can I say?

I'd guess that MotoGP won't make it either.....But "You Can't Always Get What You Want"

Well, I kept my tickets for COTA for the Stones, but of course, will be a last minute decision to go or not to the concert.

As far as Moto GP goes...I'd think there's a better than average chance for it to go forward.
