Maybe the deal of the year NGC
« on: April 08, 2021, 05:56:57 PM »

A good buddy Pal of mine just scored this 2013, brand new, 0 miles, with full warranty , for literally half of the sticker price in 2013. 9500.00 + tax and tags, no dealer prep BS or added hidden cost. The sticker price was 21K. Regardless of ones preferred brand, this was a good deal in my opinion. I can’t wait to ride it. I read some reviews and this thing is smooth, quiet and fast.

It's a Goldwing Bagger.  I'd be concerned about dried out seals if it's been sitting for 8 years. Don't know if it has any belts but that would also be a concern. Gotta admit, that is a great price and I'll bet the dealer was happy to see it gone.

Lol, yep I finally got around to that info ACC🤔

It's just called the "F6B" - no "Goldwing" or anything else in the name.

bmw makes something similar with their 6.  lowered suspension, no tail trunk.  said to feel very different from the full dress version.

I'd probably ask the dealer to change out the brake fluid but otherwise gas it & go.  I've got  an '08 Wing that I put 60K on in the first 4 years of ownership, since 2012 I've put on another 5k.  My wing doesn't see much action these days and sits for periods up to 8 months at a time.  This Wing starts right up every time I hit the button, does not use a drop of oil between oil changes nor does it leak anything.  Your pal got a good deal his Honda, good for him, I hope he enjoys his new acquisition.

It’s got a full Honda warranty so I guess if there are any issues Honda will handle it and I’m pretty sure Honda is good for it.

Nice find Dan.  I rode one back in the day and liked the seating position better than the the full up wing.  I was very disappointed that Honda removed the cruise control though and it became a non-starter for me.

Not mine TWA, a buddy of mine found it in a little town in NC, MT Airy. He’s got an old Police Road King that just broke down and happened across this Honda and something spoke to him “that’s your motorcycle Ted” his name is Ted. 👍

You wouldn't ride a brand new 8 year old motorcycle out of the dealership with 8 year old fluids. Especially brake fluid.  I realize the bike has a full warranty and Honda will absolutely stand behind their product unlike some other manufacturers.   A simple brake fluid change could prevent potential future component replacement and downtime either during or after warranty expires.  An associate of mine bought a new 2014 Honda VFR in 2018 for $7K.  It was an outstanding deal but came with nasty brake fluid.  Honda brake fluid is light tea colored and looks old to begin with.  Just bounce this off your buddy to ask the dealer about the old fluids.  I'd like to think a dealer would not intentionally let this unit out the door with 8 year old fluids but things fall through the cracks.  Thanks.

That's a great deal on a real mile eater. I used to ride a K1200GT and would take the 60 Lb tail pack off for local riding which make a HUGE difference in how the bike rode and handled. The FB6 is said to equally benefit in handling compared to the Goldwing. Good luck and many happy miles!

Buddy says the dealership told him it would be a couple days before he could pick it up because that had to change all the fluids and check everything out due to the you sitting time. It is a well established long running Honda dealership in that area. The dealership has moved over the past few years from road bikes, due to lack of interest, to 4 wheelers, side by sides, water craft, mowers etc. said this bike just kept getting passed over with no interest. Finally it’s was obviously to him, the dealer, that he may as well eat it and cut his losses. Ted made him what he figured was an unreasonable offer and “dammed if he didn’t take it”.

I have ridden the same one a couple of times , once with the stock windscreen which is basically a turbulence generator , and once with the taller official Honda screen which is a great improvement . A bit porcine , but still a fun ride .

My bud just sent us an update on his new ride.
The dealership advised that all of the fluids were changed and was put through the new bike prep system same as all new bikes sold there. It has a full warranty same as was with it when new. Here’s a better picture than I first sent.
I’m just happy for him as he deserves a new bike but just didn’t feel he could afford 20K+ on his retirement.
Good for Ted👍

Beautiful bike and a great price!  Fortunately it doesn't have one of those ugly V-Twin engines.
