Brilliant! I need to find an Aermacchi 125 rolling chassis, add the hub motor and battery Ryan sourced then stick a Dyson Vacuum shell into the former engine cavity, paint it all orange and black and call it a Harley Hay Wire

Only a delusion for those who think they are being green by having an EV.  I am intrigued by the quiet ride, the convenience of never having to go to a gas station, No more fumes.  No more oil changes, etc.

I would rather convert my mountain bicycle though so I wouldn't have to register it and could explore bike paths that only allow bicycles and pedestrians.

W/O watching the video because I just do not care about "E" vehicle tech/development......For me E-bikes failed as they are the answer to the question that was never asked.

Wind farms are a close second.

Great video thanks!

Makes A LOT of sense..

2 wheel ev, every where

It also suggests the new found interest in small bikes, such as 50cc mopeds and scooters.

The first step w those is no license, 2nd no insurance, 3rd is no registration, 4th is…ride it

What are the North America monthly sales figures for Moto Guzzi?

".....the company produced at least 1,000 (LiveWire) bikes in an approximately five-month period. That would put them at around 200 bikes per month."

They're selling more E bikes now that ever.  The tech keeps getting better.

The Fort 9 kid loves his homemade bike.  He makes a good point that I agree with and made here before: EVs will have a much bigger impact on the urban scooter market; EVs have lots of advantages for the practical commuter.

EV scooter's have taken over the food, etc. delivery business in NYC. Relatively cheap to buy, no license, little maintenance and with the speed limit at 25mph they can generally keep up with traffic. Eventually that will bleed off into the regular commuter market. And for those who are interested, go test a LiveWire but one bit of advice: Hang on.

Ryan is mostly right.  I'm an old gear head. Tweaking carburetors, shifting gears and hearing the exhaust note are big reasons to hang on to my toys. Don't get me wrong, I'll likely be replacing my ICE car with electric when this one craps out. But an electric motorcycle? Meh. For newer riders with bikes that are mostly maintenance free and slathered with plastic covers, the move to an electric is probably not such a big jump. And ICE scooter buyers face the least change when switching to electric.

Maybe electric bikes need to have an "exhaust note" speaker, like some modern ICE cars have? A selection of engine sounds, so that you could dial in a v-Twin (With a selectable V angle from parallel twin to opposed cylinders), an inline four (Optional: straight cut gear whine) or a V-8? A rotary? Turbine?  B-29 Superfortress? Ocean liner?

Thats a cool ,quickie e bike he built.  Im sure way cooler home made electrics are being cobbled up out there with just a little more effort, put in the build. Not bad for components he just ordered, and bolted together, for small $$.

There's no need to hear anything in order to ride or drive anything. Some might even see the absence of motor noise a feature.

Farming the wind…

Who would have ever thought?

With the amount of hot air around here you'd think they would be on a gold mine :P , more seriously currently the cheapest way to add capacity to an electricity grid, even if you remove an subsidies that may or may not apply in your jurisdiction.

I don't think we have the final version of an EV vehicle yet, although a lot of the hybrids/ev's available are very good at the everyday commuting that a lot of people do, batteries while they have improved significantly are still rubbish, hydrogen may yet be a thing.

We've been running e-bikes for 5 seasons, fantastic for light , short tours and the like, and allows a slower rider to enjoy the company of faster riders.

EVs are so much better than petro-cars at the average car task that it's weird.

But I can't see an electric motorcycle doing anything for me. The form doesn't match the requirements for my function.

I built one 13 years ago and rode it to work for a couple of summers. I still have and someday will revive it with a LiFePo battery now that they're affordable. See http://evalbum.com/2076. This was before cheap hubmotors and miniature controllers. I've since built two 750 watt ebikes with cheap Chinese hubmotor kits, for about $400 each including better brakes. We use them shopping and for summer events around town. The new lightweight electric dirt bikes are a lot of fun, starting at around $3500. One of my riding buddies had one last summer -- got about 40 mile range and up to 50mph on steep forest service roads and trails, which is enough for a couple of hours of big fun on a charge. I would definitely build something like Fort9's special. It's at least as much fun as adjusting valves, timing and tuning a "real" bike.
