My kids keep sending me stuff like this to look at, tho usually it's a Guzzi I'm slobbering over. This would a badarse ride with back seat and tail trunk removed.

That's one of those Hondapotomusses.  I have the money but not the slightest interest in one of those.

They are big. But seems like everyone has something of a hippo over 800 lbs to offer. My son has an 850 lb Yamaha in his stable, my nephew has an 825 lb Indian. I guess big is relative.

Hondapotomus; I like that.    I think I'd spend the money on something lighter .....

13,000 miles in 16 years??   must not be a great bike to ride....even in Iowa...that bike was made to cruise the flat interstates of the Midwest.  Looks like it weighs 900 lbs.

If you have it, don't flaunt it.

...unless it is a tax deductible expense.

It's 150 lbs lighter than some of them, spec sheet says 662, and a low CG. As easy as my GS850 I bet.

Engine is great, nice CG, wonderful bikes unless you're tall.  At 5-10 I'd find myself wadded up after a day, I know.  I keep sitting on them and realizing the cockpit is great for someone 5-6!!!!   I think my 1400 is a little like that, but for someone 5-7 with a long body or something like that.  Actually, just lifting the bars 2" made it perfect.  Much more roomy than the Valk!

They'll handle well enough - have seen them crank through the Dragon at rather nice speed.  Then again, a Rocket III all the way over will do quite well.  Just takes the fellow who can lean a monster all the way over in control to do it!!

If a Valk fit I would probably have one.

I like it better than the current version. It actually looks good. I could waste some time on the Interstate with that.

I like it but the price seems to be overly reflecting "... a kind paint job that was $3000 dollars to have done" and a $900 seat. $900?!? Magic beads pinched from a falafel stained cab cost a lot less.

As far as the weight and day-to-day ownership, I never really noticed on mine unless I had to push/pull it on gravel. Like a big bottomed gal with an otherwise average build, the weight is carried low, she's light on her feet, a pleasure to dance with and long term comfortable.

The problem - particularly with the "Interstate" - is that they represent a hell of a paradox for me... They have the comfort, reliability is legendary and power is not ever a consideration, but that fuel tank! Those bikes getting a hundred and a bunch miles outa a fill up? Ridiculous.

After I got rid of mine I heard about an under-slung aftermarket auxiliary tank. haven't ever seen one but it would have gone a long way (NPI) in getting me to keep mine.
