Last year the urethane fuel lines on my BMW began to deteriorate. I purchased many feet of ethanol resistant fuel line in many colors from an eBay shop.
I installed the new line on the BMW and an old Triumph.
The blue line looks good on the BMW and the red suits the triumph.
Yesterday the triumph developed a fuel leak about20 miles from home.
The fuel balance pipe between the carbs had split. It was a piece of urethane tube.
I made a temporary repair using the reserve side fuel line. That line is less than a year old and is hard and stiff.
My new ethanol proof colorful fuel line is crap.
I installed black fuel line from dayco that is clearly marked as fuel line.
The question is: if I want to use a smaller od line is tygon tubing suitable?

I wouldn't use Tygon. I'd use quarter inch fuel injection hose from NAPA or such. It will fit ok under the breather box for the balance line too.

I use Tygon hose from McMaster-Carr almost exclusively on all non-fuel injected bikes. I do not use it on BMW Airheads where the crossover goes through the engine/airbox casing though.

the tygon from mcmaster carr needs to be the F4040 designation for fuel I believe. certainly regular surgical hose is NFG. Look for the fuel designation if using tygon.
I use it. gets hard and discolors over the years, but never hard enough to split or make it impossible to pull off (and put back on).

I have been using the same yellow Tygon hose from McMaster Carr Charlie, and Mike recommend. Its good stuff, and easy to work with. I dont need to use any clamps with the Guzzi fittings.
