General Discussion / Re: 2007 Breva….tell me what to look for« Last post by Cam3512 on April 15, 2026, 05:45:23 PM »We never got the 8V over here. I’d bet Hamlin would throw one in. His custom bikes on the Norge/Breva platform are insane. He’s built a naked Breva/Norge with a 1400 motor.

General Discussion / Re: Small block clutch« Last post by BMCMOTO on April 15, 2026, 05:44:53 PM »Before I began the process of changing the clutch to the V9 clutch to lessen the pull, I measured the pull with a strain guage. The original clutch pull was 25 lbs to move the lever. The later clutch is now in, and I checked the pull using the same method, 11 lbs.!!!! That is a truly remarkable improvement. I wonder how many of the small blocks went unsold to prospective customers who found the clutch pull objectionable. A simple engineering change makes a lot of difference. The bike is not yet fully reassembled, so the engagement issue is still in question. Many of the small blocks, Brevas in particular, have an issue with the adjustment range available. On this bike and my other Breva, cold versus warm adjustment means it is not right for either condition. We'll know soon!!

General Discussion / Re: NO-OX-ID vs. Dielectric Grease: When/Where to Use Which?« Last post by n3303j on April 15, 2026, 05:42:18 PM »![]() AMAZON among many others. Get a can of this stuff and spray it into anywhere you want to stop corrosion. Reapply every several months. Plastic cased switches, connectors, plugs, points etcetera. It lubricates as well as protects. It will find its way into every nook & cranny. It will keep switches moving crisply and it will not interfere with conductivity. It will not harm anything. Kept the Ural running through 5 winters of daily commute over salted roads without a single contact or switch issue. I do all the bikes because they all see weather. Stuff isn't cheap, but does the job excellently without disassembly. Used to spray it in the tailcone of my airplane. Two weeks later I'd see it on the outside at the seams. Meant it was getting into the tight seams and displacing corrosive moisture. 27

General Discussion / Re: 2007 Breva….tell me what to look for« Last post by Huzo on April 15, 2026, 05:22:38 PM »I always reckoned the grizzles about how hot the Norge is, is just a total crock. It’s the personality of the bike and you become part of the experience, I find it bonds you with it. Seems strange to me that people buy a motorbike, then take steps to insulate themselves from the sensory inputs that make a bike what it is.
I’ve had my Norge 18 years and 230,000 km, it feels just right to me. My young bloke had this for a while ![]() I rode it a fair bit and I’m perplexed as to what the whining is all about. 30
