Kind of a poll. Maybe a social experiment of sorts
1 plate or bowl?  I'm a plate guy
2 white or brown? White for me
3 fork or spoon. Fork for me
4 onion or no. Onion for me
Any other answers to questions I haven't asked

1. Bowl.
2. White.
3. Spoon.
4. Onion.

Definitely with Cornbread.  Jalepeno cornbread is preferred!!

Experimenting with alternative fuel sources. I'm planning charging stations along the interstate system. Restaurants with just beans on the menu served with PBR.  :thumb:

Hmm , remembering the ogre at the giant renaissance fair in SE Texas who was singing a little ditty that went , "come on baby won't you fart in my bag" , maybe that ogre was on to something .

Real deal-  Red Beans and Rice on Monday with a loaf of fresh bread

Soaked bag of red beans.  Two small bags of frozen fresh stock- 1 ham, 1 chicken.  One shaggy hambone and some ham skin. Two chicken drumsticks. One leftover Italian sausage. A piece of leftover ham.  Chopped red & green bell peppers, celery, onion and garlic, browned in bacon grease.

Loaf of fresh bread, made up and proofing.  Drained beans in pot with vegetables and meats to cook.

Bread out of oven, crackling and singing away like it should.  Meat removed, rough cut and reserved while bones et al are left to simmer in pot for a few more hours.

Meat is returned to pot to soften and finish when about 75% of the liquid is gone from beans.  Rice is cooked.  Time to eat.

When I'm dying in the hospital bed, this is the last meal I want running through my IV.

Dinner isn't for a couple of hours or so.  If anyone wants to make a road trip in this exquisite spring weather, we would be glad to have you ride in for supper...

I fixed Donna's white bean chicken chili last night. I slept fitfully, dreaming about looking for a place to poop.
Fortunately, I didn't find one..

In the end...any dish or recipe with HAM & BEANS cannot avoid the dire and tragic consequences later on in the evening...     :thumb:  :boozing:

Never would have guessed such bourgeois fare would have a fan base here. Us proletariats had to make do with hot dogs and beans.  :food: It also checked off the entertainment box (while the B&W TV was warming up) by attempting to coat each hot dog chunk with brown mustard whilst avoiding getting bean juice on the knife and cross-contaminating the mustard jar.
