My comfort tall seat was in so I put that on and its very well made, suede top and about 7/8" higher. Minimal back pain.
How firm is the comfort seat compared with the perhaps-overly-squishy stock seat?  Firmer?  Squishier?  The same only different?

It felt much better for me, then again I have lower back issues, its very well made and the top is suede. I was a little wider but i think theres some type of gel or something like it so it was supportive but not overly form or squishy, Bear in mind I was only on it for about 1hr.

Will know more as I ride more

Really glad it worked out Dave, many happy miles!

Encouraging to see your dealer taking such action, shows they are a top notch shop. Most would shrug it off as an anomaly (which it likely was). Shows they take pride in taking care of customers.

I also have lower back problems and that little lumbar bump does a surprisingly good job supporting your back. On the basically flat V7 saddle I'd hurt after a couple hours. On the V85TT I got a little stiff after a 90 minute jaunt but in clearly better shape. I'm using the low comfort saddle for my stubby 30" inseam.

Good to hear, i think its one of the few bikes ive seen that has the "back nub" on a stock seat. It seems to work for some-

I got my service for half price when I complained about my bike when I picked it up, loose bolts and oil leaks from new.
