1977 Laverda Jota Resto

(1/2) > >>

Scout63:
This will probably be a slow project. I bought this disassembled 1977 Jota triple from forum member Mike Larsen in AZ. It was a project getting it crated  and shipped.  Hats off to cratersandfreighter in Phoenix.  They were pricey but very careful and creative in creating a single pallet and strong crating for everything.  It was very nice dealing with Mike. Mike had already had the frame powder-coated, wheels finished, gauges rebuilt and carbs rebuilt.  The upside is that much of the work is done.  The downside is that I have no idea how it came apart, so I値l have to rely on parts diagrams. Everything seems to be there, including the hi-comp pistons and performance cam.  It needs only a full wiring harness and the usual rubber and small parts. I値l need to repaint the body work back to the original silver.

Also attached is a picture of the Jota frame next to a v7 Sport frame.  The Tonti frame is a work of minimalist genius. The Laverda frame is beautifully welded, but a total tank. It痴 so heavy. More to follow. Ben

Thanks Steve. I can稚 wait.

Heads and cylinders off.  There were no valves, springs or pistons in there.  Everything was in the crates though. I値l take the heads and cylinders to my machinist, who is retiring in two months. I値l miss him terribly. The bodywork has been painted yellow but the underside of the tank shows the original silver paint. I値l repaint back to the original color.

Pescatore:
Wow, another project.
Are you still working on the V7  Sport?
