Access to 7SM gained - Testers needed
« on: January 07, 2018, 07:47:31 AM »
Hi,

Beard, the developer of the Guzzidiag software, has managed to overcome the cryptographic hurdles and establish communication between his software and the 7SM.

The development was done with a 7SM from an Aprilia motorcycle. As there seem to be a few HW version of the 7SM around, he's now looking for testers to validate the access to the Guzzi versions. If you have the standard KKL adapter and cable to connect to the ECU, kindly contact Beard directly.

guzzidiag@gmail.com

Thanks and cheers

What bikes have the 7sm, and what is a HW version?

Cali 1400 is the only Guzzi with the 7SM, currently. HW = HardWare. There seems to be different versions between Guzzi & Aprilia's.

Hardware was the only word I could think of with that abbreviation, but I didn't know there was a distinction.  Thanks!

There may be a difference between early and current Cali ECU's as well.

My guess is that might relate to the differences between the E3 and E4 bikes.

Even if you are never use another map, because you are happy as it is, please try our map downloader.

I have seen that with Aprilia's different hardware version work, so lest show the RSV4 guys that it works with Guzzi too. The name is GUZZIdiag for a reason.

Even your MGX21 can do it.

Even we pesky Aussies have managed to do it to an Audace. Anyone with an Eldorado? Touring? MGX21?

I have a 2014 Touring, the cables and Guzzidiag. I have connected and deleted an error code once without any problems. What exactly should I do to be of help in this exciting development?

I checked all parts list of the 1400 range. The euro3 versions all have the same map. When you have the latest verssion. With euro 4,  the touring 2017 aud Audace share the same map, the MGX has it's own map.

But we are interested in old and new maps, to have the library complete,  and to look for differences.

Hats off to all of you working to crack this nut. :thumb: I look forward to the day when the ridiculous lumpy idle ( retarded timing ?) issue on the 1400 can be corrected. I have a 2014 1400 custom and cable and am happy to contribute. I  also have the tv4 with factory race map which I think also uses the 7sm . I have not checked to see if it also uses the three pin cable.  Nice work!

Lucian, I've PM'd you the download link.

I've a 2014 California 1400 Custom with a set of Mistrals on it. Rideable, but I sure would like to get some more fuel to it overall. ;-) Anyway, got the cables a while ago, and would love to help. Pc hobbyist since 1979. No stranger to the command line...

Hey Paul and Mark,  haven't forgotten the tuono map, it's just the bike is deep in winter storage. As soon as I can dig it out I'll get her done.
Thank's for all you guys do. :boozing:

Just installed the map on my MGX. Popping on decel (since installing Mistrals) is noticeably 90% less and the throttle response appears to be much quicker.  After yard work is complete, time to ride it a couple hundred miles. Thanks Beetle!
