I’ve noticed that for the past several years most all of the 80’s Honda’s are getting higher in value every year. I gave 3k for my 83 CB1000C a couple years ago and felt like I got a good deal. However I did have to spend a few hundred bucks on it even though it only had 4K miles due to have been sitting several years.

My uncle had a brand new CB1100 that he highly customized with everything custom painted including frame and engine, clip ons, Rapid Transit full faring, engine work, 6 into 6 exhaust, on and on.  The bike was a couple years old when he died of a heart attack at 42.  I wanted the bike bad, but the entire extended family said they couldn't live with themselves if I died on the bike.  I had been riding on the street for 5 years by this time.

When we would ride together I would be in 4th gear and he would still be in 2nd.  After he completed all that work he test rode the bike on I-95 early in the morning with no cars around and a trooper wrote him for doing 75 in a 55.  He says the trooper omitted the 3rd digit from the right.

They gave me his leathers and favorite cowboy hat though as a consolation prize.

The CBX is still a bargain compared to a similar condition Benelli Sei and the Honda is a much superior motorcycle, but the six pipes of a 750 Sei is eye candy.

Of course, minus 2 cylinders...the little baby brother 500 QUATTRO ain't bad looking either!

(Seen recently at the Guzzi Rally in Datil in August....still for sale in ALBQ, I believe) :thumb:   :boozing:

My 83 Honda value is based on how much gasoline I have in the tank.  :boozing:

I dunno , seems like reasonable $ from what I’ve been seeing . At a recent auction of a closed Honda dealership in Greenfield Ma. A rolling CBX chassis (no engine) w/title went for around $10k !!!

On my last Moto ride I met a man who was riding a Honda CBX. I think he has one for each model year....
