NOS 2017 California 1400
« on: December 18, 2021, 06:58:32 PM »
I was at Slone’s in Murfreesboro, TN today. They have a 2017 Black California Touring with 27 miles on it with an asking price of $9999. It likely came from a former IL dealer as there’s an IL Secretary of State form in the right saddlebag.

Anyway, that seems like a good price on a new California Touring. It could make it a Happy New Year for someone on the forum.

That’s got to be a pretty darn good price if they don’t have a bunch of add ons.   They must have knocked 2k off recently as it’s listed on their website as $11,999

I didn’t take a picture but the hang tag on the right grip but it does say $9,999. I also thought that was a good price for a new California Touring. Then again there’s a new red Eldorado 1400 on eBay that can seem to get to $8K so I could be off on what a ‘good price’ is on a new 1400. Too bad the 1400’s have been orphaned by Piaggio.

If the new BMW R1800 Transcontinental Tourer had a Guzzi 1800 motor I’d be all over it. Yes, I know, I’m in a very small minority group.

I'd be interested to see what "fees" they add to that in order to actually ride it away.

There's a huge dealer here that adds a minimum of $1,200 to each 2-wheeled.... and approx $2,000 for an Indian.  Sadly, many of the other dealers in this area have followed their lead.  Show ya the bait price and then add the fees when ya get ready to sign the paperwork.  Oh, and an additional $400 if you don't finance with them

That is flat out theft. I realize dealers don't make a huge profit on sales, but if you want to get a customer into your service garage where the money is made, you should treat them better than that.   I paid no extras on my new Goose and it was a pleasure to deal with Cadre in Cincinatti.  15 minutes to do the paperwork and make photocopies of ID and done. Bike delivered 3 days later to my driveway. If every dealer acted this way, there would not be so many people who hate shopping for vehicles.
