I just replaced the fork seals in my 1050 Tiger, and assumed it would be similar for the Stelvio NTX (2013). I have the shop manual and it says that, after the fork cap is removed, to compress the bushing on top of the spring so that the large lock nut can be accessed, I don't see a bushing on top of the spring--it looks like it just sits flush against the bottom of the fork cap. So I used ratchet tie-downs to compress the spring itself, put a wrench on the large nut and began unscrewing the cap (or so I thought). But I soon realized that the large nut was disappearing up into the cap assembly. So I bagan turning the cap clockwise, and the nut re-emerged. What am I missing here?
Doh! I finally realized that, unlike my Tiger, once the cap was screwed out of the fork tube, turning that larger cap nut was just changing suspension (probably preload?)
