Anyone else have this issue? Can I just undo the end cap and see what is loose in there?

Make sure it is not the documented heat shield failure. Vibration holes out around the bolt heads and cracks the cheap metal.

Are you sure it is the muffler?  There are 3 disappointingly cheap pot metal bash plates.  I had a rattle and found that the metal surrounding the retaining bolt had just given out leaving a hole with the whole assembly vibrating.  My solution was to take a large washer to give it more strength.

Definitely the muffler already dealt with the heat shield issues in the market for looking for a better skid plate

Nope you where right. The bigger washers I put on came loose and are making a racket. I hope they upgraded this on the new TT''s.

Check F1 in Austin for heat shield and skid plate upgrade. I did mine.  Much thicker.  Good product.
Quick question now that you have your rattle answer.  I see you have a 2006 Buell.  My buddy just bought a
2007 Ulysses.  Any key issues he needs to be aware of?  Bike only has 17,xxx.

Don't want to derail your thread, thanks for any info/issues on the Buell.

The mounting part is slightly changed on the new stock ones but still looks pathetic. I did put bigger washers on mine and so far at 12000 miles they haven't broken. YET!

The 2007 had an issue which off the top of my head I can't remember. For all things Buell Badweatherbikers.co m .http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142838/142838.html?1710161442   In 31K on mine I had to replace a #77 connector for the charging, the stater and the. The front  mounts go but I'm still on the one that came on the bike. Very fun bike nothing else like a Buell. Mine is for sale I have owned it since 2008, the old thinning the fleet. For parts
