Valve stems
« on: January 29, 2023, 01:17:08 PM »
I need two valve stems to fit a pair of cast wheels from a 2016 V7 Stone. OEM stems are $27.00 and up. Rediculous!!! Any more reasonable options? I have a pair Michelin road classics coming to mount soon, so I want the wheels to be ready.

I don’t think $27 a pair is ridiculous if they’re good. Personally, I like right angle valve stems, and have Bikemaster brand on all four of my wheels that I built. $21 from Revzilla before adding any discounts they offer:

You shouldn't use a 90 with a TPMS. FWIW, I use the Napa 90-426. Great product and was $5. last year.

I get mine from Kurveygirl, because I like the name.

The 83 degree stem is a little easier to access sometimes.

They are $30 for the pair, but I've never been disappointed.

Most valve stems are either .453" or .625" with motorcycles typically being .453"

I prefer TR412 the are short and at under $1 cheap enough to change with every tire change.

I put on an angled set from Kurveygirl as well. I've got many tire pressure gauges and with straight valve stems, brake rotors,it's always a pita trying to fit a gauge in there.

I "think" they're 90 degrees. Verify your hole diameter iirc there were 2 sizes available.

Be aware that the cast wheel can be thick in that area, there may not be a lot of thread sticking into the inside of the wheel;next time I have the tire off I'll be lock titing the valve stem nut to secure it.

Every auto parts store, WalMart, TSC, RK or tire shop has .625 valve stems readily available.

.625 stems may be popular where you live in USA, not everyone lives there....  DonG

Don G. Thank the Great Spirit that not "everyone" lives here. First, we would run out of .625" valve stems, secondly, we have too many people already.
