1200 Sport & Baby Breva Updates
« on: June 30, 2023, 08:14:07 PM »
I'm still in love with my (or more correctly Ohioriders) 1200 Sport.  But to ward off the new bike allure from the V100 I wanted to address a few things to make the journey to 100K miles and retirement.

Added 1" Risers
Made some paint and striping changes.

Cash Crisis Averted!

I had already added the red striping to the white flash and a couple other places a couple years ago, new changes are painted the front cowl white, and the front with black POR 15 and added red tape, and also painted the flash sections on the top case. Breaks up the black a bit.

I also added ROX 1" spacers to help with pressure on the wrists at slower speeds. Already had Mana bars, but as MY frame ages, the spacers are a welcome assist. I still need to mount the built up stock seat, but can't find it after my move so the Corbin will stay on.

For fun, I also painted the lower cowl on the Baby Breva. Not perfect match but close enough. Used rattle can red and gas resistant  clear coat.

Total out of pocket $$ was under $100.......... (snapping red suspenders)

The fun part on this one is that Ohiorider sent me the risers he had on the bike way back when as part of a trade we made. I guess he didn't care for them but they stayed on my 1200 Sport for my entire time and were still on it when I sold it.

The Mandello looks a lot like the 1200 Sport and I have had short rides on both and didn’t see a whole lot of improvement, but I am only an average rider.

I stripped all that plastic chrome right off…sprayed it matte white and got a cop bike!

Baby Breva Report.......... The 12.5" shocks FINALLY came, and the height is perfect for the lovely Mrs Bulldog to flatfoot with her riding boots, and it is now a perfect height for her, but given that she has a rotator cuff tear and very nervous, she is passing for now. So I will put the Guzzi Bitubo Shocks back on and add it to the rotational herd for now.  I may eventually sell, or keep around for when the Griso and 1200 Sport exceed my ability to manage........ It is a SWEET little bike with tons of charachter and poke and may end up be one of the last bikes I ride..... but that is at least 15 years away (75) We will see......... We will see.............. Would be a great bike for my Daughter (who really wants my XS750 and wants to ride) or Grandson (7) some day too.  I got it for a great price, and it needs nothing.

Who needs to spend $17K on a V100???? Not this muldoon............ ....

The Baby Breva is ready for the road............. I think I need to swap out the handlebars for something wider, these are SO CLOSE together........... Not sure if they are stock. As stated in the other thread, I started it up today and is sounds so different than the Stornello with the single TB. The dual TB Small Block sounds so good........ A nice hum and sounds so 'solid' Can't wait to put some miles on it this weekend. It cleaned up marvoulously and though it is no where near as capable of the Griso or 1200 Sport, it will be a great fun little bike, a great 'guest bike' and maybe the one that gets my riding time when the other bikes get too big.

I could be wrong, but I think the sound is the twin pipes. I've loved the sound of all of my dual exhaust Guzzi's. But the V85 not so much. Even with a full Mistral system on the 2020 it just doesn't sound even close to any of the V7's.
