Found another Guzzi in a movie:
« on: April 10, 2021, 06:16:25 AM »
So, yesterday, I was mulling around on the puter and on the phone with a friend. In the background, an old Cheech and Chong movie was playing on some channel muted. As they pass by a cop, You clearly see the Kawasaki on the side cover as he takes off in prusuit. When the cop pulls over the van, it is a Guzzi. I didn't find the full shot of this but when I looked closely during the movie, it said V1000. Probably a Convert. The cylinder and side stand are clearly Guzzi.

Found a short video of the encounter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4-DZdZIMhAk

If you notice at the end of the scene, when the other cop is there, it is back to the Kawa..

We should probably look to the Mayans for advice on how to deal with shortages of gasoline and TP . Those folks had chronic shortages of both.

When I had it playing on TV, I was able to rewind the program to a point sooner than the link I provided. The side cover was V1000. That was when he took off on pursuit. I didn't have the inclination to search further for a longer cut of the scene, but it's probably out there in the ether someplace.

You are correct though. This is undoubtedly a loop. Good catch. So, two different Guzzi's and a Kaw.

Hah!  That is MY bike.  I got a very good deal on it.  Because it had been used as a Hollywood prop, it had to be sold as a 'used' vehicle with only about 150 miles as I recall.  Still on the road after 110,000 miles.

 That's cool Patrick  :afro: :thumb:

Hollywood is Hollywood , the scene from Up in Smoke was probably filmed in several segments , it can take days to film one 5 minute scene, often times over months . Even a Cheech and Chong movie was made in this way , I mean how many different trucks made out of pot were sacrificed by fire to film the scenes with the truck in them ?
