Too good to be true...? Triumph America $3500
« on: June 29, 2021, 10:19:48 AM »
Seems too good to be anything but a scam. However, it’s written like a real ad, and there isn’t a text number for a scam.

Pretty much a regional thing. I bought this 2014 America with 13k miles for $2250 at a pawn shop. Needed tires. I didn't like it. Sold for $3000. That was a year ago.

They are nice bikes if you favor that riding style.

Wow, Thats incredible, I always thought Triumph held their value more than that. Guess not.  I rode a friends Bonneville a couple of times, The engine was kinda bland and un inspiring. It is a nice looking bike, though !

3,500 dollars and 3,500 miles.
Wonder if one of those was supposed to be 5,300.
KBB "typical listing" price is 5,360.

Not many cruiser riders want a chain to maintain.   I remember when these bikes were sealing new for $7k as leftovers because they weren't selling.

I put 14K on one several years back in one riding season.  Never a lick of trouble and would go down the highway at 80 per all day.  Great bike IMO.

Triumph makes a great product. And they actually HAVE a dealer network unlike some other motorcycle manufacturers.  :thumb: Owning my 06 Tiger has been a good experience.

I agree.  My first of the 'new' Triumphs was a 2003 Centennial Edition (Bonneville) with the 790cc engine.  Stone ax reliable.  Bought used with approx 4100 miles on it ............ PO had gotten ill and could no longer ride.  I put an additional 46k miles on it.  I called the original owner, just to check on previous service history, and found that he'd purchased the 2003 bike because it reminded him so much of the Triumphs he'd owned in the 1960s.

In November, 2019, came across a 2016 T120 that had been traded on an R9T at the local BMW dealer, with 1600 miles on the odometer. Since I'd spent saddle time on a riding buddy's same year, model, and color, I bought this one without a test ride.  So far, a good ride, with an additional 7000 mile on the clock to date.
