California Touring iPhone Power
« on: July 16, 2021, 03:29:41 PM »
I want to mount my iPhone on my handlebar with a power connection that does not come off the battery. Any suggestions? Thanks.

What John Henry said. The 2 I have worked on the factory harness was zip tied to a crossmember that you can access from the right side.

BMW has sells a plug that connects into the factory Guzzi harness. Just solder the connections to your mount and use heat shrink. Good to go.

That's the one, but it seems to be scarce.

I'm actually doing the same thing with mine. I intend to make a good faith effort to see if the male/female counterpart connector can be obtained at a reasonable price in a reasonable time, BMW or otherwise.

If not, I'll convert to a generic 2 pin waterproof connector, as John mentioned.

I'll post here if I turn anything up.

I usually run a small accessory like that off the City light aka Park light, you can tie into that inside the headlight bucket.
Another easy access point for power is the front brake switch, just be aware that the handlebars may not be grounded well but thats easily fixed where they are bolted on with a small jumper.
