Never had it, is it any good.

No idea , but their ads are colorful . Dougie and I had a board meeting today , decided that we might camp over at Cedar Lake and just show up at dinner time

Wouldn't be very hard to do if the roux was made ahead of time. We would need a big pot and a rice steamer. and some shrimp and some Andouille, and maybe some catfish, and some green pepper, onion & garlic, oh, and some okra, Cajun seasoning, maybe a couple of squirrels and some crawfish.  Louisiana hot sauce and maybe a Buckwheat Zydeco CD! and some beer, that's all. :boozing:

To bad I can't fit my Jambalaya Pot on the back of Stelvio, it cooks enough to feed 60 hungry folks.;-)

Is it possible to make it in a square top like Doug makes soup in , and , the real question , will you make it ? What do you need ?

My wife is the cook in the family. I Don't see how we could possible transport everything needed to make Jambalaya plus a pot that most likely weighs 75 #.

I plan to do the JN Loop while at Talihina.

Take 271 south out of town to Indian Hwy.
Take Indian Hwy south over mountain to Hanobia. Continue south to OK 144.
Take OK 144 east to US 259.
Take US 259 north to either OK63 and go back into town or continue on to OK 1 and ride the scenic route.

JN took a few of us on this trip and I have done it every year since.

Mrs. Fubar to the rescue!!! Now not only is she SWAMP IRISH,she also has abig-large stainlessGUMBO POT and she is driving to talahena(rescue vehicle for me)!She tells me she cant cook gumbo,so,because GUZZISTA didn't make a promised visit to Nebraska she thinks its only fair that John cooks the GUMBO.If were really nice to her she may well promote another batch of DREAM SICLE MOOONSHINE. Side note to MR.GUIZZISTA,Mrs. Fubar says you really screwed up because you also missed out on the chicken enchilada she made just for me---I meant you of course!!! Trust me that is something you don't want to miss. I can bring a frozen possum and a few turnips for the pot. How about the roux?

I learned a little coonass trick from an old gal that moved to the Ozarks after Katrina, she said this was the oldest Cajun cookin' trick in the book. BUY YOUR ROUX IN A JAR! We can buy all the other stuff at the local store. All we need to work out is cookin' the rice!

I've stayed at this BnB in Talihina a few times and liked it:

http://www.hootiecreekhouse.com/

You park right out front, but the police station is across the street so its a bit bike friendly.  Being in Talihina its only 6 miles from the campground instead of 60 to the Queen Wilhelmena lodge.

Man, the weatherman are amazing in Oklahoma if they can predict the weather a week out. Here in North Texas they are lucky to get it right 48 hours ahead of time.

A number of years when I hosted the old It-lee gig we watched the 10 PM Sat weather Yep, the front is blowing out and it will be clear' Sun It was still pouring at 5 AM and didn't stop until 10.

Anyone that believes the w eatherman will believe me when I tell you I'm going to be on the front cover of Men's Health Mag.
