Shaun,

My intentions are to sell the '02 LeMans soon. I've only had it a few weeks but since then I acquired my '03 LeMans which is for all intents a new bike (3175 Miles when I bought it) and the V11 Sport I'm looking at has a set of MPH risers and they appear to be a bit taller than the stock bar position on my '03 LeMans. So that may help a bit with my longer rides. I know I could put risers on my '03 but other than installing the Ti kit I want to keep it as it is.

Meanwhile I do believe I'll keep an eye out for the right Caf Sport or even a sorted (clutch, they have the single plate clutch?) Coppa Italia. At that point I may consider selling the V11 Sport should I purchase it, but it is a red frame and just for that I may just end up keeping it.

Having a good time with all of this. "GuzziDavid" I like that. Question for the mods...can I make a change to my screen name?

Hi, David.

I understand the attraction as I lusted for a V11 for almost 10 years before I found myself in the right situation to change focus (I had been on Hinckley Triumphs for that time).  I still remember staring awestruck at the Rosso Mandello at the Vancouver motorcycle show in 2001.  My friend's comment was that it shouldn't be ridden; it should be placed under glass in the living room, and admired.

Keep in mind, though -- there are lots of other cool Guzzis out there, too!

Cheers,
Shaun

PS:   The MPH risers are excellent.  I have then on my '03, and they are a great improvement.  I think that the clip-on design of the '02 and prior is different (below the upper triple instead of above).  It might not make any difference, bit FYI.

Crap.

There's a Ballabio over on the V11 Lemans board.

Yeah, but at nearly $9k with about 8k miles on it, this guy doesn't REALLY want to sell it.

Yeah...I saw that one. Way too high. I just bought a 2003 LeMans with 3175 miles, some carbon pieces and it came with an unmounted Ti kit for a little more than half of what he wants. I have decided against the 2000 V11 Sport I was contemplating. In the end it was basically another version of the two V11's I have now.

That said I am looking for a 2004 Cafe Sport or Coppa Italia.

These have the single plate clutch?

Yep.  You'll find single plate on these bikes:  Rosso Mandello, Scura, Tenni.

Some have been changed to twin plate, so it's worth asking.

I'm not a fan of the '02 bikes.

I HATE the bubbly black textured paint they put on the bikes in 2002.  The '03 and '04 bikes had much better engine paint.

The single plate clutch may be fine for your use as a third or fourth bike.  But, if you have to pay a dealer to upgrade it to twin plate, the service will be expen$ive.

I'm passing on this one...not a fan of the paint on the engine and too many $$$'s on the clutch. The flat black on the tank is not to my likes. Holding out for a Cafe Sport or Coppa Italia. Though I would not pass up on a nice Ballabio.
