LM 2 Front Forks Question
« on: July 30, 2015, 08:05:32 AM »
Hello,

My LM2 has a different fork plugs then the bikes which pictures I've found on internet. I see the plugs usually have air valves on them, but my ones are different. Do you know what fork plugs are they. Here is a video of my bike. The plugs can be seen in at the very beginning of the video.

Are they some early LM2 forks? I am asking because I am considering FAC dampers. I am afraid that if I order dampers for LM2 they wont fit on my forks since they look not adjustable and they dont look like the 'standard' LM2 forks.

Thank you.

Thank you, mate. Yes, I ment the plug bolts that are on top of the fork tubes. There are no air valves. The bike came like that from Germany.

I have a CX100, same as your LM II w/a SP motor.  It has plug caps w/a recessed hex bolt in the middle for the fork/shock cartridges.

Without taking them to bits you won't know what's going on but they ain't stock.

The caps with a Schraeder valve on top are almost certainly FAC dampers, a common aftermarket swap-out to replace the horrible Sebaceous originals.

That's funny since I have over 110K miles on my original `81 cartridges, even pulling a sidecar, and they still work just fine, IMHO..........or maybe I replaced them with the same kind and don't remember.  Did replace some cartridges but think those were on my `80 Convert. I had.   :undecided:

Looks like regular ol' Guzzi 35mm forks on 195mmm triples with some ( custom?) homemade caps. The camera action  goes to the rear of the bike too fast to highlight the forks . BTW , Mike, got your old race bike Marzocchi forks on my LM
