I'm reminded of a James Bond movie I once endured.
At the end, our hero was circling the Earth in a space capsule in a degrading orbit accompanied by the ubiquitous femme fatale and was interrupted at an inopportune juncture
Jimmy was "playing up" a bit at the worst possible moment and M said..
(Tsk...tsk...), "what's Bond doing" !!
To which the (predictable) reply was...
"I think he's attempting re-entry Sir....!"
Chortle..chortle..

Ron,

I remember the crash, and the unfortunate but understandable decision to walk away. A bit ironic that on my return to this forum, I get the chance to read a beautifully-written chronicle of your return to one of the great passions of your life. It made my day!  Congratulations and best of luck with that black and green beauty.

Steve - thank you for the kind words - made MY day! But gotta say how great it was to ride Sunday with my old friends who were there in front of me - it was almost like yesterday it seemed! The consistency of friends and the Guzzi family means everything. Yes Guzzis are special but Guzzi people are right there.

Congratulations conquering your dragons. I think it's a mark of a true motorcyclist to crash and then return to two wheels. It's often not easy.

In Sep '04 an elk took me out at hwy speed. Came to, looking up at the hwy 20ft above me. Took a X country trip the next summer and if you think I wasn't nervous in deer territory, think again!!!

I'm sure there will be jittery moments, so keep your eyes open and pay attention to those hunches. They may not always be correct, but it's better to validate the 6th sense (in case it is) than not. The more you listen to it, the stronger it gets.

Nice looking bike! I also like the green.
