I want to fit a cast wheel made for 195mm fork spacing to lemans 3 forks with the 180mm spacing . I have the lemans 3 deep dish discs to be fit. It looks like I can machine the mounting bosses down to fit the lemans 3 discs . Doable? How much needs to be milled off the bosses each side?

Quick answer: "enough to center the rotors under the calipers". Most 195 front ends had 25mm of offset in the rotors, so the hubs are a lot wider than the 180mm Lemans 1 or 3 front ends with their deep dish rotors. What the exact offset of those deep dish rotors is, escapes me at the moment, otherwise it would be trivial to calculate. I believe I have seen a CX100 (195 front end) with Lemans 1 wheels and rotors but with a 7.5mm spacer between the rotors and hub.

I believe you're correct and that the CX100 came with those aluminum spacers. I'd assume the LM II did too. I probably have a set of them because about 30 years ago I put a set of Marzocchi Strada forks on my CX, supplied to fit a LM III, and that involved removing the spacers. Their exact thickness, I cannot say...

I installed LM1000 wheels on my LM3 using the LM3 disks. Is this the sort of thing you are doing?
I "simply" got some carriers machined to suit the wheel, the disks and the offset.

Looks like I need to remove 15mm each side from what i'm seeing here

I found a pic of a lemans 1 wheel. Looks like I'll have to machine much more than 15mm so my calculation is off .

does anyone know the width boss to boss on a lemans 1 or 3 or cx100 boss to boss?
